Danny gave me the greatest Costa Rican experience I could have hoped for. For work I came to Costa Rica to photograph tropical landscapes and local communities. Carrying along heavy camera equipment worth well over $10,000 and not speaking Spanish, I decided to hire a private driver. Danny showed up promptly at my hotel in a huge brand new van. Danny turned out to be an amazing guy and real fun to be around. He knew about all the most interesting places to take pictures at and helped me communicate with the local communities so that I could get the special pictures I needed. One morning he picked me up at 5 am so that I could photograph the sunrise and he stayed with me through sunset. He took me snorkeling and got me medical help when I was stung by a poisonous sea urchin. He took me to amazing out of the way restaurants, and showed me how to eat Ceviche the Costa Rican way.
It is without hesitation that I would recommend Danny to anyone looking to hire an affordable, protective, experienced and super cool private driver and tour guide in Costa Rica.

We hired Danny for transportation from the Airport to our final destination 4 hours away. Although our travel on the road was long, it was a very pleasant drive. Danny’s vehicle was spacious and very comfortable. There were four of us traveling with about ten bags. During our drive Danny provided us with an interesting history lesson of his beautiful country. We stopped along the way at a quaint restaurant for a break and a bite to eat. Danny made certain he had good phone numbers to contact us just in case of any traffic issues on his way to pickup us up at the end of week for our trip back to the Airport. This was a good thing because there were mud slides the night before our pick up date. Danny called me that night to let me know roads were closed, and traffic was so bad that although he was already on his way he was not sure he would make it to us at the time required to get us to the Airport on time. Danny called a colleague of his who was staying in our area and arranged our transportation to the airport with him. Danny made sure the driver had the correct size vehicle for us and our bags, called the driver to make sure we were picked up on time , and check up on us during our drive to the airport. Although the road detours and traffic were a challenge, we arrived at the Airport a half hour ahead of schedule, and of course there was Danny waiting for us to see us off and apologize in person for any inconvenience we may have had. If you are traveling to Costa Rica, Danny is the driver for you. He was extremely professional, and we will certainly use Danny again.

Even though we only hired Danny for transfers between the San Jose Airport and our lodging in the Caribe Sur Region, our time with Danny was one of our highlights of our first trip to Costa Rica. Danny loves to educate his clients about the history of the landscapes you travel through, and joyfully offers up unique stops to purchase local fruit from roadside vendors, sip freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee from quaint local plantations cafes, and purchase regional snacks to keep your tummy satisfied for your long travels. Danny speaks great English and we were able to share some delightfully heartfelt conversation with him. We also appreciated the opportunity to meet his wife, who joined him for our return of the roundtrip transfer we hired him for. We will absolutely hire him when we return to CR, and highly recommended him for a safe, comfortable, educational tour through his beautiful country.

My extended family and I (7 people total, 3 generations) traveled with Danny in the summer of 2007 for about 10 days. He’s incredibly knowledgeable of the Costa Rican country and the culture. We felt very safe in his company and I had a great time talking with him as we drove around the countryside. He suggested several activities and additions to our activities and itinerary, the best being the zip lines in Arenal and white water rafting not far from San Jose . Danny also knows all the good local restaurants. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and Danny is a first rate driver and guide. We plan to go back in a year or two and will make sure we plan our trip to coincide with Danny’s availability”

Danny was a very reliable and informative driver and guide during our visit to Costa Rica in July 2007. He was always prompt when meeting us; we never had to wait for him -- even if it meant he had to leave his house at 4 in the morning! He was very accommodating and made extra stops along the route to show us points of interest or for food/rest stops. He was an extremely safe driver. The roads in Costa Rica are not the best and the terrain can sometimes be treacherous, but we never felt in any danger in Danny’s safe hands. Even through a torrential downpour in the dark going over bridges that were barely wide enough to cross, we knew Danny would get us to our destination all in one piece. He was easy to talk to during our long drives and is a kind gentleman willing to help out others. (We had met some people on a rappelling tour in La Fortuna and when we spotted them on the same road to Manuel Antonio, Danny offered to let them follow him so they could take a shorter route that saved them a lot of time, not to mention kept them from getting lost.) Danny was a very honest, hard-working man who enjoys his job and knows his country well. He did a great job of showing Costa Rica to us during our first visit. We would highly recommend him to our friends and family who visit Costa Rica.

One of the most stressful things about international travel is not speaking the language. Not to worry! Danny served as driver, tour guide AND interpreter! Having Danny as our “Ace in the hole” made our trip to Costa Rica absolutely delightful. Ask him to take you to his sisters’ eatery in San Jose . HUM!

The service to and from the International Airport in San Jose was very prompt and very professional. Our driver stopped for us to eat at local restaurants along the way and at any other sites we wanted to stop at. I have already recommended his service to others back in the states who are planning on traveling to Costa Rica."

Christy Danny – glad you finally got your van! Your wife was probably tired of sharing
Our kids can’t stop talking about what a great vacation we had in Costa Rica, and your recommendations really made a large part of that happen. Everything you recommended, from zipline tours to restaurants, were excellent. My husband and I especially enjoyed talking to you and gaining more insight into the politics, educational system, economy and history of Costa Rica . We didn’t feel like just tourists passing through; you helped us to see there is more to Costa Rica than just the usual tourist destinations. I have recommended your services to many people, and we hope to come back and see you again in a year or so.
Hope your family is all well. If your daughter would like a “penpal” to email and practice her English, let me know. I know my daughter Sarah who is about the same age would be happy to participate.
